In my teaser line I coined the phrase, “The difference between average people and difference makers”. If you have no idea what that means or think you have an understanding of what I am trying to say, then read on; let’s get on the same page.

So you want to be rich and famous? Who doesn’t? It may seem a bit shallow to say, but I believe that everyone wants a certain level of comfort where they no longer worry about anything money related and have a strong enough confidence in their daily relationships to go out and persevere to the fullest each day. So how do you go about doing that? What is the difference between someone who does that and someone who cannot do that? It’s simple; read on.

My goal is to introduce the difference between the average success-seeking individual and the successFUL individual. What is the successful guy doing that the average guy can’t seem to grasp? Both read a thousand books and both take advice from someone who’s been there and done that before.

Here’s the difference: the average guy reads his thousand books. In fact, he reads them twice. He gets his hands on every square inch of new knowledge that he can and he takes it in. Now don’t get me wrong, this is a good thing. But what’s missing? See if you can figure it out.

The successful guy reads those same one thousand books; but it takes him twice as long. Maybe it takes him THREE TIMES as long. But then he does something that the average guy wouldn’t think of doing…HE PUTS IT INTO ACTION. He reads a chapter, meditates on it, and DOES it. Not only does he DO it, he does it until he GETS IT. Simple huh? I didn’t start writing articles and sharing my information about my marketing techniques after waiting until I felt good enough to be a guru. I just “trial and errored” it out, and started DOING it. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into and I didn’t care. The truth is that my content isn’t the best stuff out there…but it’s out there.

You can get out there too. It’s more than most people can say. You will make mistakes, mess up, and look like an all-out idiot at times. But you’ll figure it out and you’ll RETAIN the knowledge you learn. The average guy won’t; he’ll have read more than you, learned more techniques than you; but he’ll retain less and be six steps behind because what he has learned is useless…until it’s put into action. For more information, please read my article entitled, “Success and Failure Defined”.

So what is it about your boss, the people you are taking advice from, or your mentors that you may not know. This is a very interesting topic regarding success because we all view success through our own set of goggles but there are some commonalities between the people that succeed and the ones that fail. You may not know this but the people you are listening to may have no clue what they really are doing, or if they do they may not be teaching it correctly because what they are doing and what they are teaching may be two completely different things. In this article I will outline how to identify the winners from the losers with one basic technique.

So lets first identify a few reasons why we listen to some people. First they may be our supervisor or boss. Second, they may have written a book, or third they may have more money than you and seem like an authority on the subject.

The first one is probably the easiest to identify and perhaps the hardest to overcome because our bosses opinion of us keeps us employed. Your boss like any one of us at a point in their lives got to his position for standing out from among the crowd. But if that’s the case is he progressing in his career, someone that’s been in their position for a period of years and has been passed over for advancement may not be the best source of information or subject to emulate because it is obvious he has stopped his advancement. In other words he doesn’t know what it takes to get ahead and because he did it once does not mean he will do it again.  This is a key when deciding to listen to your boss, it may cost you your job but do you think hes going to help you get ahead of him, unlikely if hes in the position hes in, unless hes the nicest schmuck in the world.

Authors are another big category that we all fall into, how would we learn other than through apprenticeship or direct observation if it weren’t for books. We all seem to respect authors whether we agree with what they are putting on paper or not.  But have you ever considered that what your reading may by complete rubbish?  Just because someone has the ability to put ink to paper or type to text that they many have absolutely have no idea what their talking about. Or perhaps your favorite author may not have even written your favorite book. They may not even know what’s in the book because a ghost writer wrote it. Do you want to listen to an author that has to use some other persons name to get their ink across to readers?  Consider this carefully, is your source correct, are you getting the real deal or just some inferior copy with information that only sounds good?

The last one is about money. Now if your already listening to someone who has more money than you should consider yourself lucky if he’s so rich that he can buy his own country, he may just tell you how to do the same. If your goal is money you have to know if the person you are giving your attention came by it by chance, or actually earned it. Some people know how to earn money, some people have money but they earned it through means of singing, preforming, or inheritance and may have no business sense, and perhaps later may develop one. But if you can’t sing, or dance, or have any wealthy family members it’s likely you need to find the right mentor.  You need to know who to emulate, and you know who to emulate if that person has what you want. Know how much money you want to make and the way you want to make it and find a person that is doing it, then do what they are doing.

Now just because you find yourself a good teacher, who has what you want, and is willing to teach you or has material that you can use does not guarantee your success, you still have to do the action steps.  You should emulate your boss only if you want to be like him. You should consider that the author you are taking advice from may not have written the book or may not have any real applicable knowledge. And if the person who has money whom you are listening to is giving you advice make sure they earned it the way you want to earn money.  The technique outlined here is very simple. Find mentors that have what you want and do what they do, if you are chasing something that you want and are not getting git your obviously doing something wrong and need to rethink your strategy and perhaps even your dreams.

The key in successfully owning your own home based business is first realizing your most important asset

The key in successfully owning your own home based business is first realizing your most important asset. Your time is the most valuable tool you can use in your online business and the goal is to optimize as much of it as possible. Leveraging your time is one of the top obstacles business owners face and with this resource I’ll give you step by step directions to leverage your time for maximum efficiency.

Allocating your actions in the appropriate schedules will allow free space for other productive activities. For instance, as a business owner you should be logging how you spend your time by every 30 minutes. How many hours a week do you spend sleeping, spending time with family, selling to new customers, servicing existing customers, actually running your business, managing, and producing?

The realer you are with yourself and how you spend your time, the more opportunity you have to supplement your income with new growth. Now it’s imperative you evaluate your actions by defining where to cut down and where to invest your time. For example, you’ll be looking for the things your able to cut down or completely remove to create more time for something more productive.

Most business owners fill the position for several jobs in their own companies. This creates strain, reduces value, and can actually do more harm than advantage.

Do you believe if you don’t do it yourself it won’t get done?

If you said yes, the answer in this case is actually no so pay attention. In any home based business it’s important to realize the value of each position for what its worth. There’s a reason why business owners fill in positions and it’s to leverage their time.

No matter how perfect you may think you are at running your online business, there is someone better qualified to run a particular position. That’s the reality of life and it’s about time you accepted it.

Know the facts and understand capital, experienced people, ideas, technology advances and customers can always be acquired. It is not so for your time as a business owner, once it’s gone that’s it. Now is where you begin to see how you should invest your time into your home based business.

Begin by establishing relationships with people who can service and sell your customers.

Experienced individuals for this position are a must because their experience and new insight will add streaming ideas into your business. Imagine all the free time you could have if you had a sales force on your team for every customer relations and sales opportunity. Please take note, it is also taken as professional when a client contacts you and receives a manager or service assistant.

Managing your home based business for many business owners is often confused with what you would like to do rather than what you should do. Eliminate this thinking by replacing yourself with a qualified individual to hire and develop new employees, one who you trust to manage your business. If you think carefully of the business ladder, how many managers, team leaders, etc. are there until you reach the top? Exactly, be in the same mind frame with your own business.

Utilizing technology to automate financing, and production to save time and money is the smartest thing you can do. Especially with today’s easy access to billions of products and services this will make your home based business more accessible and in turn more profitable.

You can accomplish this easily by investing the time into researching a worthy copy writer and a web master. Yes, you can easily do these things yourself but expect real results if you don’t have experience with this. Setting up a landing page and fulfilling customer satisfaction through your webpage is an art and easily be detrimental to your home based business if not set up correctly.

This next step is what determines the business owners from the entrepreneurs. Those who invest more capital into business, instead of more time, are the ones who think like business owners. If you aren’t investing capital into your business, I don’t care what the excuse is this is not your business it’s your hobby.

Business owners accept new ventures and welcome the investments because they know it determines a large portion of their revenue. Take the time to sit with professionals on proven ways you can invest capital into your home based business. An accountant and marketing advisor are great tools for any business owner and can easily share with you visuals on how to do this more appropriately for your business plans.

As with anything else great in this world you need to include a partner or group of partners that share expertise, help ideas for working capital and customer access. These partnerships are priceless and are essential to improving your business interface with the individuals who are in contact with it.

Think of this way, can you think of any great event (like the million man march) that didn’t involve a group of partners working toward a goal together? Isn’t it true even the Bible has it documented Jesus himself had 12 disciples? So be great in your thoughts and person and know you’ll attract the partners you’ll need in your home based business.

Take the steps above and place them into action, or their useless to you and your online business growth. Use them and add your own techniques and watch your business soar.

Yes, it’s that simple, all it takes is action from you.

It is vital to have proper leadership coaching in an organization

It is vital to have proper leadership coaching in an organization.  It is unfortunate that in many companies, management teams have no clear understanding of how to lead.  The default for them is to micro manage others by pushing out their chest feathers and showing “who’s in charge”.  Hundreds of books exist on how to best lead a team of people and have an amazing concept between them; however you cannot effectively learn how to lead people from pages in a book.

The position you hold may hold a title of leadership, but it doesn’t mean that you automatically exude the leadership qualities.  Keep in mind; even the largest corporations have CEO’s that do not know how to effectively manage others.  Other employees of the company may have been with the company for 20 years and know their job inside and out.  Does this mean they know how to coach others?  It is important for a leader to gain respect, confidence and above all – TRUST – of their employees.  What is the first two ways to do that?  Treat them like a human; not a number and be able to do their job!  If you are willing to do their job from time to time, they are willing to go above and beyond for you most of the time.

Do you need to be over 40 to be a good leader?  Absolutely not!  Age does not matter in the least when it comes to leadership skills.  It has to do with personality.  If you have the natural leadership qualities it takes to be an amazing leader, you don’t need to be 40.  Quite a few 20 year olds hold an important leadership position!  You see, a great leader is not noticed for the title, but for the ability to motivate the team consistently; one who is always searching for new ways to motivate and improve standards.  In the effort to improve standards, the leader needs to identify weaknesses in the company and present and/or implement solutions to assist the company in gaining strength.

Another important quality of a great leader is education.  Not the degree itself.  It is all about the education on the company they work for and the understanding they have of all of the intricate details of the company.  Without this, how could the leader make a well informed decision about the company that would benefit everyone?  Is the leader able to adapt to any situation?  In the corporate world, the fancy term is “change management”.  There are those employees that are unfortunately labeled “change inept”.  We think of them as those who will come close to having a panic attack and the mention of change.  Why label them?  Why not apply the leadership skills you have and work with them to make the transition as easy as possible?

In leadership coaching , it is not training, it’s an attitude!
